The Sioux County FFA Chapter have had a busy few weeks, hosting its annual auction

and winning gold medals at State FFA Convention in Lincoln.

Nearly every student in the high school qualified for State FFA Convention, and the

team brought home two gold medals and several ribbons. Both of the Warriors’ gold

medals came in Leadership Development Events. Blaise Lange earned gold in

Employment Skills, and the Ag Demonstration team of Kaylee Juhnke and Sierra

Eastman also picked up a gold medal.

The Warriors fielded four teams in Career Development Events. The Welding team of

Weston Schafer, Jhett Skavdahl, Brody Lange and Baxter Reece had the highest

placing as a team, with a 13 th place finish out of 60 teams. Schafer, Skavdahl and Lange

all received blue ribbons, and Lange finished in the top 10 of all arc welders.

The Farm and Business Management team was 17 th out of 60. Team member Seth

Dunn earned a purple ribbon, while Jhett Skavdahl and Jack Hunter each picked up red

ribbons. The final team member was Josh Perez.

The Ag Sales team of Sierra Eastman, Ella Hyer, Jack Hunter and Blaise Lange finished

22 nd out of 36 teams. Eastman earned a blue ribbon in the event.

The Agriscience team finished 125 th out of 133 teams. Competing in the event were

Morgan Randall, Millie Hughes, Zoey Sanderson and Taylen Lambert.

Before heading off to Lincoln, the FFA chapter hosted its annual fundraiser with live and

silent auctions featuring items the members made and a labor auction. This year’s

fundraiser generated approximately $24,000 for the chapter, according to Advisor Trisha

Hunter.
